Mikey Clancy, an Irish Pro windsurfer has put together a video of a magical session he scored at the former roaming PWA event site in Brandon Bay last week.
The west coast of Ireland was hit with huge swells and a northerly wind producing mast-high faces at Mossies reefbreak.
The 18-yr old Dubliner had one of the best wave riding sessions of his life and captured it all on this epic video. Check it out at www.mikeyclancy.com
I went posting-mad yesterday so be sure to read the posts below if you neeed to catch up on what's what on the web...although...since then I've heard from a little birdie that Angulo are launching a Slalom board range crafted by former AHD and RSX shaper Jean Bouldoires. Judging by Angulo's good results in his return to PWA Slalom in 2008 these could be red hot. Watch this space. Oh - and happy Thanksgiving too - hope you're enjoying your holiday, and well, thanks for giving this site your time!
Frank Bingel wrote in from Germany in response to my post discussing the Gorge to tell you about his website for land-locked surfers at River Rippers. There's a great video section, gallery, global river guide, safety advice, stories, forum plus he's running a Photo Contest that needs your votes.
Frank also tipped us off about a great movie clip featuring PWA Pro Windsurfer and Environmental Activist Florian Jung's trip to windsurf in front of Glaciers and see global warming in action. (Flash Player required - the clip's in German, and is an excerpt from 'Flo Jo's' documentary aired on RTL, but if you don't speak 'Deutsche' then turn the sound down and enjoy the images and have a think about your impact on climate change). Thanks Frank.
I once read that if we had named Global Warming something that sounded less comfortable and more frightening, such as Arctic Meltdown, or Polar Armageddon, we'd all have reacted sooner.
