After the long drive...the reward.
Wanna a close up of that board?
Now I guess we can enjoy a debate on the difference between a Mutant and a 360? Answers on the comments below please. I caught this on film back in April...so what is it...Mutant or 360?
An awesome coast-to-coast, FREE learn-to-windsurf initiative in Australia from NeilPryde and JP Australia - please spread the word and let's get more people involved.
Apart from being more fun of course, remember more windsurfers buying equipment means better gear coming through the system to meet demand and more people to sell your second hand stuff to!
Updates from the Luderitz Speed Challenge. (Bringdal notched 43 knots already...)
Two great news outlets - DaNews interviews da Waterhound - and Beach Telegraph gets a mention - thanks dudes!
Not much happening at the Tiree Wave Classic.
Witchcraft are offering a new rental service in Fuerteventura. A great idea for a hit-and-run mission on a forecast without excess baggage hassle. Check out the PR.
<<<PR
With the ever increasing prices and decreasing weight allowances for flying with windsurf equipment, we will be offering equipment rental from March 2011.
Available will be a selection of the current Wave V3.0 and Chakra V2.0 and Ezzy Sails 2011. Rental is also ideal to test our equipment prior to purchasing. Find out what the hype around Witchcraft and Ezzy is all about and why so many Fuerte locals choose this high quality equipment.
Pre-bookings are recommended and rewarded, especially in the high season from march till september. And off course, rental is also ideal for a short trip on a good forecast. With the increasing connections with low cost airline Ryanair, rental can be the cheapest and easiest option. All you need to take is your wetsuit and harness.

Apologies if I missed anything - I managed to accidentally delete a massive chunk of my inbox today. It's a pretty cool way to save some time as it turns out and hopefully I only missed some lottery winning notifications, random distant relative inheritance news and Viagra mails!
Perhaps a Mutant is to a 360 as a tweaked-pushloop is to a regular pushloop? Looks like the same type maneuver, but probably has a totally different feeling and technique. Not that I can do any of these... mere speculation on my part.

Hi
Fish,
Yeah
good point.Im thinking its the back arch thats the difference.Id
alwaysthought the wave 360 was on the wave and the GuScrew the same
rotation but in the air...so a Mutant must be...a GuScrew with back arch? I know
for sure Im never going to do any of em myself! Ill ask Mark Angulo and
see what he says...cant get a better judgment than that can
we?

Gu Screw is a 360 landed off the back (ie a screw up).
The main difference between the mutant and the 360 is that the mutant rotation starts a lot more corked (kinda like a goiter). And this allows the move to travel farther down the wave. I think of the mutant as a move that starts like a goiter and finishes like a 360 (at least that was how the first ones looked).
