Hi,
I love the idea of this magazine but I find it a real chore to navigate and read on my 15" Macbook. I think some other format needs to be found that isn't trying to mimic a hardcopy magazine. Sure I can read everything and zoom in etc. but I for one do not find it convenient or relaxing in anything like the way that a paper magazine is. I'll spend much more time visiting other blogs etc. just because its easier to get around.

Loved it! Once again how a windsurf mag should be! The content is spot on, and deals with the real aspects of why we love the sport so much, instead of being bogged down in filler and long winded test articles. I also think it provides a good insight into the sport, and has a perfect balance of whats going on.
Nice work, and looking forward to the next one!

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the feedback - it's really valuable to us.
I can see your point. Print style does give a nice 'design' opportunity,
but sometimes those styles take away from the experience.
Often a cleaner, simpler format can make reading easier I agree.
Especially on a range of devices.
We're looking into different options right now is all I can say. It
might be that we offer a range of them to suit preferences.
I guess it also comes down to the fact that there are not many features
offerings online in any field as most editorial on the web is
news-based.
That makes it a challenge as we're all about giving readers a great time
and enhanced offering for free and promising our advertisers great value
as a result.
Somewhere in the middle Beach Telegraph and Windsurfer International
must meet!
By the way, format views aside, how is the Flash content on your Mac?
Some Mac users say it's not supported.
Thanks again for taking the time to read and comment.
In the meantime I've set up two mailboxes for those who'd like the HiHo
and Reunion articles by mail with text only as they're longer copy
features. You can try [email protected] and
[email protected] for auto reply service.
Cheers,
Brian

Aww thanks Stoofer - you're too kind! Glad you enjoyed it anyway. It is
fun putting it together I have to say. It's a pretty cool sport and I'd
love for more people to find that out, hopefully by coming across the
mag on Facebook or wherever they see it posted. Right, time for a
'post-mag production' beer! As they say here in Ireland, Slainte!

Reading an online mag is really something you learn... I really like the concept and because of my daily job I'm used to read online, but I can understand that other people have some problems with this.
Nice to see that the previous edition got that many pageviews! I think/hope this can grow in the next months to an even bigger audience...
Keep up the good work!

Hi Herman,
Thanks for the comment. The more feedback like this we get the better so
we can continually enhance and develop the format into the most optimum
reader experience possible for the widest range of people. If that means
we offer more than one format, which I personally am thinking, then so
be it!
I've been replying to comments by a new email facility and noticed the
formatting is pretty weird huh?
Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Early days as you say, I am confident that accessibility and formatting issues are only going to improve but yes the Flash content seems to be another niggle the video at the start of the Reunion article for instance is not working on my Mac in either Safari or Camnino nor in Internet Explorer via Windows on Parallels? I'm guessing I've seen that clip already elsewhere though. Anyway I'll see if I can train myself to adjust better to online reading. The Maui Ultra Fin article has got my interest as by coincidence I happened to order some fins from Rick only yesterday...

Hi Christo,
Thanks - yeah the Reunion clip is one that's already been all over the
web and I thought it'd be ncie to add it in for anyone who hasn't seen
it. They achieved so many views you wouldn't believe it.
Actually that clip is super slow as you say. It's a mammothly big file
but I also 'experimented' with a different way of inserting it from the
original source instead of laying it on the page. But the file's too big
to place on the page directly so it'll be just as slow so maybe time to
compress it down a little!
Hope the rest of the Flash is OK on Mac. Be good to hear any other Mac
users feedback too. I use a PC but test on Chrome, Firefox and IE and
mobile.
Gonna have to order some of those fins myself too. Got some new multi
fin toys on order and feel the need to experiment!
Have fun!
Brian
