How can you respect pros who bullsh!t about their equipment. I am a real kauli fan but it is clear that he is not using production boards and not even using Werner Gnigler shapes. This really drops him in my estimiation. I understand why the pros use custom boards but why bull about it. Why not just come clean. 90% of windsurfers wouldn't get anywhere with their custom boards anyway and the productions are better suited to them so just be honest about it.

I think its all about marketing. If the pros wouldnt say a word about the manufacturers boards, no1 would buy them :)
Ofcourse, not many people give a damn what team riders talk about their brand. But sometimes the decision 'what sail to buy' is influenced by the factor 'omg, Bjorn is using that brand, it has to be awesome. Ill buy it too' :)

Hi guys - thanks for the comments. It seems a shame that what some companies say and do is different. Some brands though really do use their own shapers exclusively and I guess this is a shame for them as people would find it hard to believe them as well.
