Just in. Irish pro Oisin Van Gelderen sent me this pic from the West of Ireland with a message saying '...bit of swell...just rigging-up. Phone camera doesn't do it justice'.
I'd say looking at the full size image that it's pushing double mast high. More on that later. I can't wait.
Speaking of chunky swell, WSJ posted a link to a big wave session last Tuesday in Fuerteventura. The angry Atlantic Ocean's certainly been serving-up some sizeable Winter Solstice feasts this week.
Another Father Christmas sighting - also at WSJ. Basically, Santa rips.
Check out the new Synergy concept from Severne. Be nice if more manufacturers made all sail bags able to unravel and carry the whole rig like this too don't you? Judging by this shot it looks like Brit pro Simon Hurry is either moonlighting as a male model for Severne or he's penned a deal with them.
I was checking the European Freestyle Tour's 2009 schedule when I stumbled across this video of Tom Hartmann in Mauritius.
Fresh Scottish Lobster anyone? A nice story and photo gallery of a trip to Scotland by Chris Hafer and Flo Sonchen.
Further to the ISWC fines story from yesterday. Windsurf Journal (French) reckon that the Fuerteventura Speed Sailing event is now under threat due to 'revolting' sailors.
Apparently Karin Jaggi spoke-out on behalf of the competitors about poor storage conditions, the distance from the course the riders had to travel and earned herself a Euro 400 fine for her efforts.
As a softly spoken and calm mannered person, Karin must have felt strongly about the conditions as she was receiving her trophy at the time she protested.
If you haven't voted in the Magazine poll yet, please let us know your mag-buying motivations just there to the left. Thanks.
'Eco-warrior' Flo Jung's been making headlines again - this time in Britain's finest and highest quality daily publication - The Sun. No topless chicks in that article sadly.
Don't worry - there are still topless chicks in The Sun though. Kind of.
Please check back later for more news or leave links to anything else hot in the comments section below - no sign-in required. Thanks.
About the poll, it´s a difference why I buy a wind mag and what I WAN`T to see...in comparision with a surfers mag all the wind mags suck!

Hi,
I just saw in surfline.com an article about a new, revolutionary surfboard design that K Slater just rode to win the Pipeline contest. It is super short and wide, with tons of rocker...It just reminded me a lot the windsurf boards that Kauli's been riding for a few years (and now everybody else does).
Just coincidence or another time surfing revolutions are inspired by windsurfing?
Cheers,
marcos
